Reflexology in Saffron Walden, Maternity and Fertility Reflexologist for Essex and Cambridgeshire

Hello and a very warm welcome to my website,

With sixteen years experience as a reflexologist, I offer a professional reflexology service, promoting the healing benefits of this wonderful holistic therapy to clients in and around Saffron Walden in north Essex and the surrounding counties of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

I am passionate about my work and have specialised in women's health issues for many years - including pregnancy, fertility issues and menopause. I also have a particular interest in treating stress-related conditions. I believe that to achieve optimum health and wellbeing, the 'whole' person needs to be balanced - both physically and emotionally. - and lifestyle choices therefore need to be assessed and addressed, and will form a crucial part of every treatment plan.

I am a Member of the Association of Reflexologists, and am on the NHS Choices Register. I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). A recent report by the Royal Society for Public Health and the Professional Standards Authority found that "Practitioners registered with CNHC support public health by encouraging their clients to make a range of lifestyle changes. These include improvements to diet and nutrition, support with giving up smoking and losing weight, support with reducing stress, improving sleep, managing pain and other symptoms, as well as overall enhancements to wellbeing. All CNHC registrants are committed to enhancing the UK public’s health and wellbeing."

My peaceful treatment room is located in a tranquil setting, just south of Saffron Walden, yet within easy reach of Thaxted, Great Dunmow, Cambridge, Bishops Stortford, Haverhill and Braintree. Location map

"Absolutely the most wonderful treatment I have had, so relaxing and felt amazing afterwards."

The gentle holistic therapy of reflexology provides an antidote to the stresses and strains of our busy lives. Treatment sessions will encourage relaxation at the deepest level and are a pleasurable and pampering experience. Reducing stress and increasing relaxation may lead to an improvement in your quality of life - including enhanced sleep, a lift in mood and a renewed sense of wellbeing.

You may be approaching menopause and have started to experience troublesome symptoms, including hot flushes, irritability, mood swings and loss of libido. Reflexology may help you cope better through this transition - helping to balance hormones in a natural way - indeed many clients report an increase in their energy levels and a new zest for life.

There are so many health conditions that may respond well to reflexology. Here are just a few:
  • stress
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • back and muscular pain
  • menstruation issues (irregular periods, PMS, hormone imbalance)
  • digestive disorders (including IBS)
  • sleeping difficulties/insomnia
How can reflexology help me?

Maternity Reflexology

"Thank you for all your wonderful advice and support today and throughout my pregnancy. It certainly paid off! My little girl was born at home this morning after a four and a half hour labour!"

I have been a maternity reflexologist for many years and feel very privileged to have been able to support hundreds of expectant mums throughout their pregnancies. As I offer a specialised pregnancy reflexology service, clients come to me from the local area surrounding Saffron Walden and much further afield - from Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

If you have found out that you are expecting, it's never too early to let reflexology help you - especially if you are starting to experience any common symptoms of pregnancy:
  • morning sickness and nausea
  • back pain
  • heartburn
  • constipation
  • fluid retention
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • hyperemesis
  • pelvic girdle pain
Your body will be going though considerable changes whilst you are pregnant, and specialised reflexology techniques may help relieve some of these conditions and calm and soothe body and mind too.

In previous years I have assisted on maternity reflexology training courses around the UK and have also worked on a voluntary basis within a hospital maternity unit. I continue to maintain links with the community midwives in the areas surrounding my practice.

Reflexology for fertility issues

"I can't thank you enough for helping me with my fertility journey - both the reflexology and the long chats were absolutely invaluable and I doubt Jemima would be here if I hadn't come to see you for treatment."

I have been offering reflexology to those planning to start a family, or trying to conceive, for many years, and have seen how sensible lifestyle choices and regular treatment sessions can lead to a happy outcome.

  • Pre-conceptual treatments may enhance your fertility and ensure you are in the best physical and emotional condition to optimise your chances of conception.

  • Reflexology may help ease symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Endometriosis - perhaps contributory factors if you are experiencing fertility problems.

  • Treatments may encourage regulation of the menstrual cycle following oral/implant contraceptive use.

  • Treatments can also support those undergoing Assisted Conception - helping to relieve anxiety and decrease the production of stress hormones, as well as encouraging relaxation at the deepest level.

Cancellation policy

Whilst I do appreciate that emergencies crop up from time to time and appointments have to be cancelled, please be aware that I do reserve the right to charge 50% of the total session charge, if you give me less than 24 hours notice. Whilst I do not like having to enforce these policies, they have become a necessity to ensure that my business running costs are covered, despite the income lost from a cancelled appointment. Thanks for your understanding.
